Business Continuity

  • Full system backup

Eliminate the risk of data loss as Realcopy backs up EVERYTHING on the source hard drive or partition, including all files/folders, applications, system settings and data.

You can breathe easy knowing that if a catastrophe occurs, you can get back to exactly what you had.

  • Instantly recover from a disaster by booting the backup directly from Realcopy

In a disaster Realcopy Recovery Boot can instantly boot your backup as a virtual machine without requiring ant additional software. This will allow you to use your virtual machine within seconds while recovering the actual disaster. Once the disaster has been rectified Realcopy can migrate the virtual machine back to a physical machine.

  • Natively boot images in all (major) branded virtual machines

Realcopy saves its image format as a Microsoft VHD file which is natively supported without conversion by Microsoft Hyper-V/ Virtual PC™, VM-Ware™ ESX / Server / Workstation, Citrix XEN Server™, and Sun Virtual box™.

In a disaster recovery situation, the VHD image can be booted INSTANTLY by your favorite virtual machine software to maintain business continuity.

  • Synthetic Restores™

It is important to maintain business operations and recover from a system failure, spyware infection, or installation gone wrong as soon as possible.

‘Synthetic restores’™ are an extraordinarily fast method of quickly reverting an entire operating system to the exact state prior to backup. Other applications use a full system restore which may take a considerable amount of time; but Realcopy uses a ‘synthetic restore’™ to restore only the required blocks very quickly.

  • Granular file restores from images

If you have only lost or corrupted one file, why restore everything? Realcopy allows for a granular restore of your data without needing to restore an entire operating system.

Realcopy allows users to browse to specific files or folders within your backup image by mounting the VHD as a driver letter.

Increased Productivity

  • Synthetic Backups

Synthetic backups are created from a full backup of a system and subsequent incremental or differential backups. With incremental backups, only changed information in the system is backed up so the backup will be very fast and much smaller, saving time and bandwidth.

This feature means that backups can happen more frequently and take up less space. As a result there will be a larger number of backups providing more time-slices of user changes. Restores can therefore be more targeted.

  • Physical and Virtual Migrations

Realcopy can perform any combination of physical or virtual hardware independent migrations, that is P2P, P2V, V2V, and V2P.

Realcopy simplifies recovering from a disaster. Rather than having to start from scratch and reinstall the operating system and then all applications, and then update everything; Realcopy migrates and restores all your files, settings and applications to any another computer from an earlier backup. Obviously, this will reduce effort and most importantly in a recovery situation Realcopy will save time.

  • Multi-incremental backups to separate independent locations

Backing up to multiple locations is usually a multistage process: a user backs up to a single location, and then duplicates the file to the other required locations to keep it consistent.

With Realcopy, independent incremental images can be backed up automatically to several different locations at different times. None of the backups effect any of the other backup cycles. This means should you lose your original data as well as your backup, you can fail over to the alternate backup(s).

  • Automatically excludes common files

To make Realcopy more productive and faster, it automatically excludes common un-need files like the ‘hibernation’ and ‘page’ files to make images smaller.

  • Summary reporting

Realcopy’s emailed backup reports have as their subject line backup success or failure; so administrators will know if the backup worked just from looking at their e-mail Inbox.

Realcopy save time and keeps you fully informed with an ‘executive summary’ at the top of each e-mailed backup report. This small ‘executive summary’ is all an administrator needs to read to know what happened in the backup.

  • Capture disk images from a live running computer

There is no need to need to shutdown the computer to make a disk image. Realcopy can capture an exact image in the background while the computer is running normally, so the user can continue to operate their applications without hindrance.

  • Accelerated imaging compared to standard OS tools

Realcopy uses sector and block based technology rather then file based. This allows for much faster backup and restore operations compared to Microsoft WIM™ imaging that is file based.

In addition, Realcopy captures an exact image that includes metafile and system data that is not captured by other products.

Reduced operating costs

  • Fully supported at one low price

Only one version of Realcopy is needed for all backup needs in any Windows environment. Realcopy is supported on all current Windows operating systems (XP, Vista, 7 on 32/64 bit), and Windows Server operating systems (2003/R2, 2008/R2) at the one price point.

If your organization has a client-server environment, you will save a considerable amount of money by not having to buy higher priced product for the server(s).

  • Swiss army knife style software amalgamation

Realcopy is not just a backup application. It also does disk imaging, file replication, and burning all combined into one program. No need for separate programs anymore.

It uniquely combines all this software into one integrated single user interface that will obviate the need for multiple programs, and thereby reduce your organization’s licensing costs.

  • Reduced image proliferation by simplified image management

Realcopy offers immediate R.O.I. through increased IT staff productivity, by reducing the number of images required through hardware independence. The Administrator simply captures the image and restores it to any physical or virtual computer; and Realcopy will perform its hardware independent imaging process.

  • No Installation, No runtime environments and No maintenance

Receive immediate returns in productivity and savings. To start using Realcopy it is as easy as double clicking on the executable.

Realcopy is a single (less than 30MB) .EXE file that requires no installation, and has no external dependencies like .NET or SQL. It also requires no server to be installed and can run from any environment like WinPE, a USB key, or a network share.

  • Reduce staffing and training costs

The interface used by Realcopy is so simple and intuitive that additional training is not required. At the same time, Realcopy incorporates a host of advanced features designed to empower users.

Innovative Features

  • Boot or mount images natively

A Realcopy VHD image can be booted directly using Microsoft Windows 7 / 2008 R2 Native Boot feature, without the need to install third party virtual machine software. These operating systems will also mount the image as a drive letter, via the Windows Disk Management console.

As this boot process is independent of the Realcopy .EXE, Realcopy’s image format is truly flexible and universal.

Highly Flexible

  • Eliminate backup windows with consolidated image.

Rationalize and simplify your backup systems and procedures by setting the maximum number of incremental images to be created before consolidation. As a consequence, rolling backups can occur using a reduced disk space.

  • Restore to dissimilar disk size.

Provided sufficient room is present on the target drive, images can be restored to dissimilar disk sizes. Volume sizes can be set based on megabytes or on a percentage of the disk.

  • Backup or restore to or from anywher.

Realcopy can backup or restored to local or remote drives, shares, NASs, and USB drives.

Realcopy can be used to create and burn a recovery disc for bare metal restores, however, they are not required for restoring to the system volume. On the other hand, non-system volumes can be restored without restarting..
